Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Buff (Gold), four thunderbolts conjoined radiating saltirewise Gules, overall a Pegasus Sable.  Attached above the shield a Red scroll inscribed "STRENGTH FROM SUPPORT" in Gold.

Symbolism
Buff (gold) and scarlet are the colors traditionally used by Support units.  Black denotes strength and solidity.  The thunderbolts form a saltire underscoring support and representing the four areas of service provided by the battalion:  Quartermaster, Ordnance, Transportation and Medical.  The Pegasus represents vigilance and dedication.  Its mythical role as Zeus' carrier of thunderbolts highlights the unit's readiness to carry out its mission.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 11 August 1995.
